Elizabeth Powers
Director of International Programs
Professor of Practice
Elizabeth Powers is director of the Business School's International Programs and professor of practice teaching two graduate courses covering intellectual property and technology transactions.
As international programs director, she coordinates the School's international programs, both undergraduate and MBA, and serves as liaison on University risk management and travel policy issues.
Her faculty work draws on her extensive experience as a patent attorney. Prior to forming her own patent law firm, Elizabeth was Assistant Dean for High Technology Law, at the SCU School of Law, during which time she formed the High Tech Law Institute. Most recently, she was Assistant Dean for International Law at the School of Law, during which time she formed the Center for Global Law and Policy. She taught at the School of Law beginning in 1996, based on a textbook she co-authored.
Ms. Powers is an alumna of Santa Clara University and holds a dual degree from SCU's School of Law and Leavey School of Business, and as well as a master's in Counseling Psychology. She is the author of one textbook and several articles on intellectual property law. She has taught and lectured worldwide, including a semester in Warsaw, Poland, as a Fulbright Scholar.
