MSIS Board of Advisors: Glenn Rennels, M.D., PhDChief Technology Officer and Dr. Rennels joined The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) in 1990, becoming their Technology Officer in 1999. Prior to joining TPMG, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at MIT, and an anesthesiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. He holds a bachelor's in mathematics from Dartmouth College, where he also earned his M.D. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University. The Permanente Medical Group is the largest doctors group in the U.S. and is one component of the Kaiser-Permanente healthcare organization. Headquartered in Oakland, California, it employes 5,300 physicians, 700 nurses, and additional support staff. |
