Hunger Issues Forum on Friday
Tuesday, Sep. 6, 2011
Local non-profits are working to fill the gap in food needs according to a study by Dean Drew Starbird to be unveiled at the fourth annual Hunger Issues Forum at Santa Clara University on Friday. Santa Clara University's Food and Agribusiness Institute and Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties are hosting the event to discuss the state of hunger in area counties and the need for advocacy and legislation.
The event, beginning at 8:30 AM in the campus Locatelli Center, will bring together community organizers from around the Bay Area to look at food access, healthy eating education, and highlight community needs to fight hunger for families, children, and seniors.
