  •  The 7th Annual Leavey School of Business Senior Awards

    The Leavey School of Business is holding the 7th Annual Senior Awards Ceremony this Friday, June 12, 2015. This ceremony honors the outstanding work of graduating seniors and recognizes their scholarly performance and personal achievement, both in the classroom and the community. 

    Congratulations to these 2015 student scholars! 


    Beta Gamma Sigma
    The mission of this national business honor society is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and well as personal and professional excellence.

    Leavey Scholars Program
    The Leavey Scholars Program offers special opportunities for undergraduate business students who have established a record of excellence in their Santa Clara studies.

    Accelerated Cooperative Education (ACE)
    The ACE program is a unique program designed to provide selected undergraduate business majors an education which blends academics with practice, to strengthen and enhance their leadership skills.

    Departmental Awards:

    For these awards, the faculty of each department select a senior whose academic performance in the discipline combines with strong leadership skills, commitment to service, and potential for professional success. The 2015 awardees are:

    Tuyet-Anh Ta – Professor O. Robert Anderson Outstanding Student in Accounting Award (Established in 1973 in memory of accounting Professor O. Robert Anderson)

    Jessica Huang – Outstanding Student in Accounting and Information Systems Award

    Rico MokOutstanding Student Entrepreneurs Award (Awarded by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship)

    Franchesca Yamamoto – The Charles and Barbara Hazel Outstanding Student in Economics Award (Named for Economics benefactors Charles and Barbara Hazel)

    Logan Peterson – Outstanding Student in Finance Award

    Katarina M. Loya – Outstanding Student in Management Award

    Kristin Wendel – Albert F. Bruno Outstanding Student in Marketing Award (Established in 1982 in memory of Albert F. Bruno by Albert V. Bruno and family)

    Roshan Doshi – Outstanding Student in Operations and Management Information Systems Award

    Business School Awards:

    For these awards, students are nominated by Leavey School of Business faculty for exemplifying the mission of the University, as well as demonstrating academic excellence, leadership and dedication to the Leavey School of Business. Finalists are chosen by the Dean along with the associate Deans. The 2015 awardees are:

    Alex D. Nauman & Sean Roe – Leavey School of Business Leadership Award

    Jessica Elaine Sullivan – Leavey School of Business Service Award

    Jonathan Colarelli – Charles Dirksen Prize

    Caleb Scherer – Isabel Jones Academic Achievement Prize, (Established by Eliot Jones, Ph.D. in 1956 in memory of his wife, Isabel) and the Delta Sigma Scholarship Key.

  •  Griffiths is Silicon Valley 'Woman of Influence'

    Terri Griffith, professor of management, has been named to the Silicon Valley Business Journal's list of "Women of Influence 2012," and will be honored at a gala dinner in April. She joins a distinguished group that includes the CEO of one of the largest tech companies in the world, as well as leaders in health, financial, and non-profit sectors.

    Griffith has taught at Santa Clara University School of Business since 2001, where her research and consulting interests include the use of new technologies and organizational practice. Utilization of technology is also the subject of her new book, The Plugged-In Manager, and her blog "Technology and Organizations," a widely followed commentary on the implementation and effective use of technology in organizations.

    She has taught at Washington University (St. Louis) and the University of Arizona. He received her bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley and earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon.
