    Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 12:00 AM

Carolyn Evans, a senior economist at Intel Corporation, has been named senior assistant dean for graduate business programs in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, beginning January 27.

“Dr. Evans’ academic expertise and industry experience make her an exceptional choice to lead the growth of our Graduate Business program,” said Dean Drew Starbird, in making the announcement. “Her leadership will be significant as we strengthen our flexible MBA offerings and add new master’s degrees to serve a diverse Silicon Valley workforce.”

Evans was most recently senior economist in the sales and marketing division at Intel Corporation. Previously she had served as associate professor of economics, and faculty director of the undergraduate business program at Santa Clara University. She was a senior economist for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, and served as senior staff economist on the Council of Economic Advisers at the White House.

She earned the AB, AM and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University, and holds a master’s of science degree from the London School of Economics.

To get a jump-start on SCU's MBA/MSIS degrees, savvy applicants will begin classes in Spring 2013--if their final application is submitted by January 20.

"We know busy professionals don't want to wait until Fall to get started on their graduate business degrees," said Tammy Fox, director of Graduate Business Admissions for the Leavey School of Business. "Beginning classes in April means they are that much closer to joining Santa Clara's vast business alumni network."
