  • SCU Business Undergrad #35 in nation

    Thursday, Mar. 3, 2011 3:14 PM

SANTA CLARA, CA March 3, 2011 Santa Clara University business undergraduate program moved up to #35 nationally in the BloombergBusinessWeek rankings released today. This is the fourth consecutive year the Leavey School of Business has appeared in the Top 50.

The magazine surveys students and corporate recruiters annually, and gathers data on entering student GPAs, SAT scores, and median starting salaries of graduates. The editors then rank the 113 eligible schools individually on such measures as academic quality and student satisfaction.

Dean Drew Starbird took pleasure in the high academic quality score a 19, shared with larger schools such as University of Michigan and Cornell. Teaching quality was graded A+ by our seniors, said Dean Drew Starbird. Clearly our students appreciate our teaching scholars who combine theory with practice.

SCU students also gave the Schools facilities and services an A+, noted Jo-Anne Shibles, assistant dean of undergraduate business programs. Our students value the special programs such as the Contemplative Leadership and Sustainability Program (CLASP) and our Senior Leadership Academy that have been developed over the last few years.

Only three other California business programs appeared in the top 50 this year: UC Berkeley (13), University of Southern California (34), and University of San Diego (36).
