Business schools should be stimulating business start-ups and growth, said Santa Clara Business School Dean Drew Starbird, in his opinion piece appearing December 13 on BloombergBusinessWeek.com.
The recession is a new opportunity for business schools to help create jobs, not just educate men and women to fill them, he argued, and cited the California Program for Entrepreneurs (CAPE), launched last spring to equip 20 California-based entrepreneurs to build scaleable businesses to add jobs to the state's economy.
