As well as being an Adjunct Instructor in the OMIS department in Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, Paul is also a Ph.D. Candidate in the Operations Management department of McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management. He holds undergraduate degrees in both Business (McGill, 2004) and Industrial Engineering (Purdue, 2005), an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (Purdue, 2007) and expects to complete his Ph.D. by December 2013.
Paul's current research interest lies in Healthcare Operations, with his dissertation focused on developing mathematical modeling techniques to address capacity, location and long-term care decisions for the elderly (nursing homes).
As an instructor, Paul has taught multiple introductory statistics courses at both McGill and SCU, having received teaching awards from both institutions. He most recently ranked in the 95th percentile for all business instructors at SCU. Paul regularly conducts Independent Studies with graduates of his statistics courses and is currently the Faculty Advisor for the Operations Management and Informations Systems Student Network (OSN).
Paul also has varied industry experience in engineering (SNC Lavalin, Raufoss Neuman, TVS Motors), Enterprise Resource Applications (Microsoft Dynamics, Crowe Horwath LLP) and consulting (Veteran's Affairs Center for APplied Systems Engineering). His work and studies have taken him to Canada, the USA, Kenya, Turkey, and India. Paul is perfectly bilingual in both English and French and has a working knowledge of Italian and Spanish.
