Ethical Dilemmas for Financial Planners : Meir Statman

Meir Statman, the Glenn Klimek Professor of Finance, was interviewed for an article about ethical dilemmas facing financial advisors on the website, Financial Planning.

Conflicts of interest are unavoidable, he told the writer, but the first step is to recognize they exist. He suggests financial planners ‘grade’ themselves on their ethical perspectives – the higher the grade, the more likely it is that the advisor is missing potential problems for the client and the planner.
