Drew Starbird : Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Germany : German News

Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2014

Dean Drew Starbird, President Michael Engh, S.J., and Provost Dennis Jacobs met with President of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Germany (formerly known as University of Applied Sciences), Peter Sperber, and director of its MBA program Peter Schmeider, over lunch to discuss the innovative partnership between our business programs.

Larry Robertson, SCU associate dean of executive education describes the program as such, "2014 will mark the fourth year that we have hosted a group of MBA students for the University of Applied Sciences, Deggendorf.  They bring about 30 to 35 students per year.  We provide a week-long program that includes classroom instruction and company visits.  We focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.

"We will continue to work with Deggendorf, but the SCU supplied content will become part of a Deggendorf MBA curriculum. Deggendorf will provide the academic credits based on their accreditation standards.  They will market their MBA as being 'in partnership with' Santa Clara University.  We will continue, at least in the short term, to consider this as an executive education experience.”
