Experiential Learning
Through experiential learning opportunities outside of the classroom, students develop the skills and self-awareness to succeed after college.
SCU students score significantly higher than the national average for an “Enriching Educational Experience” because of the emphasis we place on Experiential Learning.

The Arrupe Partnerships for Community-based Learning connects students, faculty, and community organizations for active engagement, research, and collaboration around social justice.

All students must complete the Experiential Learning for Social Justice (ELSJ) requirement in the curriculum. These courses help students “make vocational choices in light of both their greatest gifts and the world’s greatest needs.”

SCU offers students paid fellowships to engage in projects locally and internationally related to social justice, ethics, and/or technology.

Immersion programs are off-campus, educational, service-based opportunities in which students travel to and serve in a community different from their own.

At least 70% of our students have at least one internship before they graduate.
