Biographical Information
Raised in the wine business. Frosh and soph years at Fordham University in New York City. Began to help in the lab to make sparkling wine and CA champagne in '36. After WWII became winemaker - shifted to sales in '55. In 1976 started to do public relations work (with John Taddeucci, '66), retired in 1987, and now write a column for Wines and Vines, give a few speeches, etc.
Joe Deck and Fr. Corbett were my revered Profs.
In 1940 or so there was no wine course at UC Davis or Berkeley or Fresno St. Chemistry was the closest I could get!
