Biographical Information
Despite having a year left in my part-time masters program, I saw an opening for a chemistry teacher at a private Catholic high school south of Seattle and had to jump at the chance—somehow without any formal teaching experience or even my certification, they gave me a job! So I’m teaching chemistry and honors chemistry at Kennedy High School and I couldn’t be happier. I also couldn’t be busier or more tired, but it’s worth it. Teaching—especially high school—was not on my list of goals when I graduated from Santa Clara! It took me a year to realize I wanted to teach and start my masters program. It’s fantastic—I love the kids, I love the school, and of course I love chemistry, so I can’t imagine doing anything else.
