Teri Okita (1989) is a correspondent for CBS Newspapth, the affiliate news service of CBS News, and works in Los Angeles. She was a weekend evening anchor and reporter for WUSA-TV in Washington from 1996 to 2000. Before that she worked at KGMD-TV in Honolulu and at KECI-TV in Missoula. Michael Whalen (1989, pictured below) has joined the Santa Clara Communication Department as an assistant professor in the video area. Osei Appiah (1990) received a Ph.D. in 1997 in Communication from Stanford University and is now an assistant professor in the Greenlee School of Journalism at Iowa State University. Janine Gill (1997) is working as a television reporter at the NBC affiliate in Chico, CA. Among the journalism graduates, Melissa Segura works as a writer-reporter for Sports Illustrated; Jennifer Kanne is a reporter for the Orange County Register; Joe Tone works for the Stockton Record; and Nikki Collins for CBS in Illinois.
Kara Lindquist (2003) works for Blueprint Entertainment in Los Angeles as Assistant to the Executive Producer. Becki Fowler (2003) is at A&R Partners, San Mateo, as an account associate for Palm's (Palm Handhelds) Enterprise Team, assisting with customer reference program, analyst relations, and research for conferences. Other graduates have chosen public relations careers: Drew Millam works at Sony Playstation; Jenee Cline at Electronic Arts; Helen Allrich at Eastwick Communications; and Lauren Russell and Nicole Resz at Google. |
