Craig Gower
Manager of Media Systems and Chief Engineer
Academic/professional Background: Mr. Gower holds a M.A. in Broadcast Communication Arts from San Francisco State University, a B.S. in Industrial Education from Central Connecticut State University and an A.S. in General Education from Norwalk Community College in Connecticut. His master's research centered on evolving audio improvements in the early 1980s at 10 San Francisco Bay Area television production facilities.
Mr. Gower taught high school and junior high industrial arts before coming to California to pursue his graduate degree. While at San Francisco State, he taught part time in the Broadcast Communication Arts Department and later was employed as the first full time Production Services Supervisor for the San Francisco State Student Union. Upon leaving SFSU, he worked in several production and management positions at KRON-TV, NBC's former affiliate in San Francisco.
He left commercial television after three years, to join the staff at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, where he served as Technical Coordinator for 10 years. Besides his primary technical responsibilities, he also produced and directed a wide variety of educational and entertainment television productions.
Teaching areas/responsibilities: Mr. Gower is manager and chief engineer of the digital video production facility in the Communication Department. He is responsible for the video and audio technical equipment in the department as well as supervision and instruction of various production labs.
