Eligibility Guidelines- Classes of 2009 & 2010

To: ALL SENIORS- Deadline to apply for the 2009 graduates is Monday, January 19th.

To qualify as a member of the Communication Honor Society, you must:

  • be a Communication Major
  • over all GPA of 3.0
  • have completed 20 quarter units in Communication
  • have a 3.50 GPA in your Communication courses
  • rank in the top 35% of your class
  • Service requirement for each member must be completed.

If you believe you qualify and are interested in joining, please complete the form below and submit it by the deadline listed below. We will be in touch with you after your qualifications have been verified. You can also stop by the Communication Office to fill out the paperwork.
 
The service requirement will be directed by the faculty advisor and will support the academic goals of the department, which may include special projects sponsored by faculty, hosting department Open House, Preview day and Grad School panels, and other works.

The membership fee (which is paid to the parent organization, the National Communication Association) is a one-time fee of $31.00 (mandatory), plus $8.00 for an honor cord to be worn at graduation (if desired). This payment, made out to Santa Clara University and submitted to Helen Otero is due within 7 days of notification that you are eligible to join.
