Biographical Information
Lita received her M.A. in English Composition from San Francisco State University. She has been teaching Composition at Santa Clara University since 1994.
Originally an historian, Ms. Kurth spent some years researching and writing grant proposals for nonprofits and then became a specialist in Composition. Most recently, she has added a Creative Writing MFA. A quote she appreciates is Pablo Neruda's:
“Our original guiding stars are struggle and hope. But there is no such thing as a lone struggle, no such thing as a lone hope.”

- Composition and Creative Writing with particular emphasis on Fiction and Creative Nonfiction. In both fields, a strong interest in how writers grow and develop
