Biographical Information

Claudia MonPere McIsaac has been teaching at SCU since 1980. She received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and her B.A. in Theatre Arts from U.C. Berkeley.

Her short fiction and poems have appeared in many literary magazines, including The Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Puerto del Sol, Calyx, and The Spoon River Poetry Review. Her essays have appeared in the anthologies Herspace: Women, Writing, and Solitude and Living on the Margins: Women Writers on Breast Cancer.

Awards include the Brutocao Curriculum Innovation Award and First Prize in the Georgetown Review Fiction Contest. She is currently at work on a collection of short stories set in the Bass Lake area of California. Her teaching interests include narrative forms and writing and performance.
