The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Gerald and Sally DeNardo Science Scholars. Science faculty are invited to encourage a student they have been mentoring in basic or applied research, or a student of whom they have knowledge. Students are also encouraged to seek out a faculty mentor if they are interested in applying.
Qualifications
The ideal candidates will represent the best of a Jesuit education, reflecting the potential to become individuals for others—engaged citizens of the community and of the world. In this inaugural year, nominees will be:
• Seniors, juniors, or sophomores who have proven academic accomplishment;
• Active in research;
• Committed to pursuing a career in the health sciences broadly defined.
Application
Student applications must include:
• The DeNardo Science Scholars application (Download);
• A description of the proposed research project, to be developed in collaboration with a faculty mentor.
Application forms are available in science department offices and the College of Arts and Sciences Office of the Dean.
