| Through a special partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), this fellowship program seeks to engage undergraduates in interdisciplinary research efforts designed to make substantive contributions to the field of conservation science and significantly influence policy. Opportunities to work on conservation related research are available for next summer, with the potential to continue research during the following school year. Applications for next summer's fellowships will be available in the winter quarter from this website and from the Environmental Studies Institute office (874 Lafayette St.). A course in statistics is highly recommended for fellowship applicants. Past research projects have focused on conservation easements, wetlands restoration effectiveness and global indicators for conservation decision-making. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. TNC takes a systematic, science-based approach to identifying sites for protection. More on this topic: |
