The Ulistac Outreach Center now offers free, 60-minute, docent-led field trips consisting of grade-level appropriate science and environmental studies curriculum, based on California Content Standards.
Ulistac's field trip activities provide academic structure as well as allow students to spend time outdoors, appreciating nature. Click here to download a pdf that identifies field trip themes, learning objectives, and content standards addressed in field trips for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.
Besides a free hour of guided environmental education, the Ulistac Outreach Center provides themed pre- and post-trip activities for teachers to integrate our field trips into their classroom curriculum. Children's books related to each grade level's theme are also recommended.
Please e-mail the Ulistac Outreach Center (ulistac@scu.edu) to schedule a field trip for your class. Reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis. To ensure availability, please submit your request at least three weeks prior to your preferred field trip date.
We at Ulistac Natural Area encourage everyone to take advantage of this wonderful place. Spend time outdoors, meet community members at our semi-monthly volunteer work days, and help your students explore their "big backyard."
