Center For Nanostructures
|
A collaborative effort between the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering, the Center will conduct, promote, and nurture nanoscale science and technology interdisciplinary research and education activities at the University. It also hopes to position the University as a national center of innovation in nanoscience education and nanostructures research. Nanotechnology deals with the creation of functional materials, devices, and systems at a length scale of 1 to 100 nanometers in at least one principal direction. The emphasis is on exploiting the novel properties (physical, chemical, biological, electrical, magnetic, mechanical, and optical), which arise due to the nanoscale nature of the material.
