Liberal Studies - Eastside Future Teachers Project

Liberal Studies program

Background

The Eastside Future Teachers Project was established in 1995 in an effort to provide college-preparatory programming and support to students from East San Jose who want to become teachers in their home communities.

We now serve students from the great Bay Area who want to teach under-represented populations in urban communities throughout northern California.

Our Goals Are To...

  • Recruit high school students who are committed to becoming teachers in urban communities.
  • Support high school students in their college application process.
  • Provide financial, academic, and social support for college students.
  • Provide opportunities to discuss and be directly engaged in teaching.
  • Prepare students for their credential and first teaching position.
