MAJOR – minimum of 40 Upper Division Units MINOR – minimum of 19 Upper Division Units
 As part of the 40 units, the following courses must be included:  As part of the 19 units, the following courses must be included:
  • Spanish 100 or dept. approved substitution
  • Spanish 101 or dept. approved substitution
  • Spanish 175 (Spanish Applied Linguistics I
  • Survey Course chosen from SPAN 120, 121, 130 or 131
  • One course in Latin American Literature or Culture
  • One course in Spanish Peninsular Literature or Culture
  • Remaining units taken in upper division electives
  • 20 Units taken at SCU or taught by SCU Faculty
  • Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in major
  • Spanish 100 or dept. approved substitution
  • Spanish 101 or dept. approved substitution
  • One course in Hispanic Literature or Culture
  • Remaining units taken in upper division electives
  • Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in minor
                                                                            

 

  • A junior year of study in a country where Spanish is spoken is recommended, but not required.
