Graduation Checklists: Core 2009

MAJOR – minimum of 40 Upper Division Units MINOR – minimum of 19 Upper Division Units
 As part of the 40 units, the following courses must be included:  As part of the 19 units, the following courses must be included:
  • French 100 or dept. approved substitution
  • French 101 or dept. approved substitution
  • One upper division course in French Literature taught in English may be included as part of 40 upper division units, as long as it contains a French component.
  • Remaining units taken in upper division electives taught in French
  • 20 units taken at SCU or taught by SCU Faculty
  • Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in major
  • French 100 or dept. approved substitution
  • French 101 or dept. approved substitution
  • One upper division course in French Literature taught in English may be included as part of 40 upper division units, as long as it contains a French component.
  • Remaining units taken in upper division electives taught in French
  • 10 units taken at SCU or taught by SCU faculty.
  • Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in minor.


 

  • Recommended electives include courses in French or European history, comparative literature, art history, and additional work in linguistics.
  • A junior year of study in a country where French is spoken is recommended, but not required.  Students who are interested in both French and business may choose to study for a semester at I.E.S. in Dijon, France or for a quarter at the École Supérieure de Commerce in Rouen, France.
