Katie McCormick

Voice Faculty

Kate McCormick began formal vocal studies at Saint Mary’s College  in Notre Dame, Indiana, where she received a Bachelors of Music in Music Education. She continued her vocal training at the Boston Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance.

Kate continued to train in opera and musical theater at the New England Conservatory and the Longy School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Since then, Kate has taught and performed professionally throughout New England and California, and has performed in a wide range of musical idioms, including classical, musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz and choral music.

Kate enjoys a multi-faceted career, combining her interests of teaching and performing. After moving to San Jose, CA in 2003, Kate began working full time as the Director of Vocal Music at Archbishop Mitty High School, and as an Adjunct Faculty Member teaching Musical Theater Voice at Santa Clara University.

In addition to her teaching positions in the area, Katie maintains a private voice studio in San Jose. Kate  is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), the California Music Educators Association (CMEA), and the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).
