Melissa Lin, Accompanist
Pianist Melissa Lin has been teaching and performing in the Bay Area since 2000. A staff accompanist and piano instructor at Santa Clara University since 2005, she has performed in various faculty concerts and student recitals. In addition to working with voice and instrumental students, Melissa has also served as rehearsal pianist for opera/musical theater productions at SCU. As a freelance musician, she has enjoyed working with Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, Santa Clara Chorale, Broadway By the Bay, Foothill Music Theatre, and Winchester Orchestra.
While a student at SUNY - College at Purchase, Melissa discovered the joy of collaboration in a Vocal Accompanying class with Steve Blier, and a Chamber Music class with Yehudi Wyner. She later attended Académie Internationale d’Eté de Nice, France, where she coached with Dalton Baldwin in Art Songs; and the Music Academy of the West, for instrumental accompanying. Melissa has also participated in vocal master classes with Warren Jones, and Elly Ameling.
A graduate of SUNY - Purchase, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Curtis Institute of Music, her teachers include Sophia Rosoff, Anne Epperson and Dr. Vladimir Sokoloff. She has performed extensively in the US, Japan, France, Belgium, with radio broadcasts in France and Belgium. She was previously a staff accompanist at Encore School for Strings, in Hudson, Ohio, and a full time staff accompanist at the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music, in Stockton, CA. |
