Festival of Lights 2007
Santa Clara University's Choral Ensembles presented their ninth annual "Festival of Lights" concert on Saturday December 1, 2007 in the historic Mission Santa Clara de Asis. This year's performance features Kenneth Leighton's gorgeous Hymn of the Nativity as well as traditional Hanukkah music, traditional African drumming and caroling, audience caroling, and the choir's annual candle-lit rendition of Silent Night.Tickets: $5 Students, $10 Seniors/SCU Staff, $12 General
The University’s Concert Choir and Chamber Singers are conducted by Thomas Colohan, who also serves as director of the Santa Clara Chorale. He has conducted members of the National Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the San Jose Symphony, the California Chamber Symphony, the Mission Chamber Orchestra, and the Richmond Symphony. He served for six years as founder and artistic director of the James River Singers in Richmond, Va and as assistant conductor of the Master Chorale of Washington, in Washington, D.C.
