Title Introduction to Philosophy

Description An introduction to fundamental theoretical issues in the western philosophical tradition. The course will range widely over central areas of philosophy and will study any of a number of important philosophical problems: the nature of mind, the nature of reality, the exisence of God, the possibility of free will, the sources and scope of human knowledge, etc. While the course is appropriate for all interested students, it is especially designed to provide a rigorous foundation for further study in philosophy, including as preparation for those who may wish to go on to major in Philosophy.
