Michael Hickson
Assistant Professor of Philosophy (Ph.D., University of Western Ontario, 2010)
He received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario in 2010 after defending his thesis on Pierre Bayle, written under the supervision of Thomas Lennon. His recent research has focused on the history of seventeenth-century philosophy, especially Descartes, Bayle, skepticism, and the problem of evil; as well as on both historical and contemporary issues related to conscience. His translation of Bayle’s last book, Dialogues of Maximus and Themistius, is under contract with Brill and is scheduled to appear in 2012. His recent work has been published in the British Journal for the History of Philosophy, History of Philosophy Quarterly, and Journal of the History of Ideas. HicksonCV current5-11--12
