His research and teaching interests include ethics and aesthetics, virtue ethics, environmental ethics, and the philosophy of law.

His work has appeared in various places, including:  American Philosophical Quarterly, Ethics, Hastings Center Report, History of European Ideas, Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism, Journal of Philosophy, Journal of Political Philosophy
