Join our team and be a part of an exciting political campaign
What: College internships available, July 1st till November 6th. Join a competitive State Senate campaign in the heart of Silicon Valley. Interns will learn the ins and outs of political campaigns and will have a direct impact immediately. Internships will involve: management of voter data, mobilization of volunteers, creation of precinct packets, canvassing, phone banking and other GOTV efforts.
Where: Senate District 15 encompasses the cities of San Jose, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino and Campbell.
Who: Joe Coto began his career as a teacher in the Oakland Unified School District. In 1988 he accepted the position of Superintendent of the East Side Union High School District in San Jose and served the East San José community for 14 years. Coto has a lifetime commitment to the advancement of all students and their families. In recognition of his contributions as superintendent of the East Side Union High School District and beyond, the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) named him the 2003 'Superintendent of the Year’.
Between 2004 and 2010, Coto served three terms in the California State Assembly. His agenda in the Legislature focused on making California's schools the best in the nation. He also worked to ensure that all of California's children have health insurance and are provided with the ability to experience the American dream. This dream includes going to college, securing a good paying job, and owning a home.
This is an unpaid position.
