Professor Curry's focus is on Eastern Europe and Democratization. She has written nine books, and is currently working on a book of interviews from Georgian and Serbian dissidents. She is the recipient of five Fulbrights. This upcoming year she will serve as a Faculty Senate Professor. She also works as a professional mediator and has a cocker spaniel named Sunflower.

The third edition of her edited text, Central and East European Politics came out in 2015. Now she is working on a book on the People's Revolutions (based on research she did with a grant from the United States Institute of Peace) and has recently published on the Media in Poland and role of religion in the Polish transition. She is affiliated with the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw.
