Bridgette Portman's research interests include American politics and political psychology, particularly the intersection of political ideology and personality. She has a special interest in existential psychology, particularly fear of death, and its possible impacts on political belief systems and behavior. She is teaching courses this year in American Politics, the Constitution and Equality, Women in Politics, and Research Methods, as well as a special topics course entitled Death, Politics, and Policy. In her spare time she enjoys writing plays
