Anil Sakya, Ph.D.

Visiting Professor

Anil Sakya is a Buddhist monk joining Santa Clara from Thailand. He has studied throughout the world, earning a B.A. in Sociology from Mahamakut Buddhist University in Thailand, an M.A. in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, an MPhil in Social Anthropology from Christ's College, Cambridge University in the U.K., and a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from Brunel University in the U.K. Professor Sakya's areas of specialization are cultural/social anthropology, the anthropology of religion, and Buddhism.
