
Gary Macy
Dr. Macy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was later an English Literature major at Marquette University in Milwaukee. After graduating with an undergraduate and a master’s degree from Marquette, he traveled to Cambridge University where he earned a doctoral degree in historical theology.
Dr. Macy has published several books and over twenty articles on the theology and history of the Eucharist and on women’s ordination. In 1991-2, Dr. Macy was Heroditus Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and during the 2005-2006 academic year was Senior Luce Fellowship at the National Humanities Center in North Carolina.
In 2007, Dr. Macy was appointed John Nobili, S.J. Professor of Theology at Santa Clara University.
