not pictured 84    CPT Erica Courtney was raised in Huntington Beach, California. At age 19 she joined the Military Police Corps as a Private working her way to Corporal where she earned a Green-To-Gold scholarship and an honorable discharge from enlistment.She then attended the University of Hawaii ROTC program serving as the cadet Battalion Commander and was commissioned as an aviator flying the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior scout helicopter.Having served 11 years active duty time, she held several positions to include Flight Operations Officer, Platoon Leader, Brigade Assistant S4 and Brigade S4 in some of the most highly deployable and respected units in the Army.These include 7ATC Germany, 2ID Korea, 82nd Airborne, 10th Mountain and more.Erica has served with distinction in a combat arms role as a cavalry officer both in peacetime and in war-with Afghanistan being most recent.Erica had a 7-year break in service where she later joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 2013 to teach the next generation of leaders.She earned her Executive MBA at Florida International University, owns her own small business, and has two sons and an active Duty Coast Guard husband who flies the MH-65D in the bay area.
