SSG Troy J. Griffey Was Born and Raised in Spokane Washington. He Joined the Army in September of 1996 and was scheduled to attend Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson South Carolina to be a Personnel Services Specialist (75H which is now a Human Resources Specialist 42A) SSG Griffey's First Duty Station was Fort Lewis Washington with I Corps, 22nd Personnel Services Battalion. SSG Griffey Deployed in Support of operation Iraqi Freedom in February of 2004. In November of 2004 SSG Griffey had a permanent change of Station to Fort Carson, Colorado where we was assigned to the 3rd Squadron 61st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, as Human Resources NCO where is Was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom in September of 2006. In October of 2009 SSG Griffey was again deployed, this time to Afghanistan under ISAF for Operation Enduring Freedom; after returning from Afghanistan SSG Griffey was assigned to 2nd Battalion 77th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade, and 4th Infantry Division.In October 2011 SSG Griffey was deployed to support Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his return from Afghanistan SSG Griffey had another permanent Change of Station to University of Santa Clara, 8th ROTC BDE Cadet Command where he is currently assigned as a Cadet Recruiting NCOIC for San Jose State University.He has successfully completed Human Resources (42a) Advanced Individual Training, Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC or Warrior Leader Course), and Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC).
