Elizabeth Dale
Elizabeth Dale, Senior Lecturer in the Theatre and Dance Department, has taught Women in Theatre, Intro to Theatre and beginning and advanced levels of acting for both the stage and for the camera. In the Spring of 2007 she collaborated with the Communication Department where her advanced acting students performed in full scale projects in SCU's state of the art film studio. She has directed numerous plays for the Theatre and Dance Department, and among her favorites have been To Gillian on her 37th Birthday, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), Arcadia, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Crimes of the Heart. She recently directed a professional production of The Comlete Works of William Shakespeare(Abridged),which toured in Italy. She was invited to teach in Florence for Gonzaga University's study abroad program and asked to stay on for an additional semester as Assistant Dean. She serves as a Program Director for the Study Abroad Office at SCU and regularly takes students to Verona, Italy. Her students attend summer operas at L'Arena, a 20,000 seat Roman amphitheatre. While teaching theatre in Verona, she was honored by the musical director of Verdi's Aida to translate as he performed the opera for a large English-speaking audience.
Elizabeth is currently on sabbatical and working on two feature-length films, where she will be an assistant director in the first movie, and will be a supporting actor in the other. The films are scheduled for nation-wide release in the Spring of 2008, and the Fall of 2008 respectively. She holds an MFA from the University of California, San Diego, where she studied under the Tony Award winning director, Alan Schneider, master acting teacher, Dr. Arthur Wagner and the renowned Shakespearean director and film actor, Eric Christmas.
