Course Information

The curriculum of the Casa Bayanihan is designed for most undergraduate majors, enabling you to meet your graduation requirements with academic credit granted through the University of San Francisco or your home institution. Your classes will be taught by some of the best professors at the Ateneo de Manila University - experts in their fields and on topics related to Asia.

The learning style is integrated and interdisciplinary and examines the social, political, and economic reality of the people of the Philippines. Courses incorporate traditional classroom activities, participative research, and interaction with the local community.

For a full list of classes, visit the Fall 2013 Syllabi page. Students will select their full course load for the semester program. During the semester, all students are required to be enrolled on the appropriate section of Filipino (either 100 or 110, see left toolbar for syllabi). Students who are fluent in Filipino and pass a proficiency test can opt to take a different class. All students are required to take the Field Placement / Praxis seminar.

Each of the courses offered at the Casa Bayanihan is classified as upper-division coursework, with credit issued through the University of San Francisco.
