The Papal Encyclical on Climate Change
On June 18, Pope Francis will issue a world-wide encyclical on a Catholic theology on ecology, environmental desturction, and climate change. The highly anticipated document, intended to spur reflection and action amoung the world's 1.2 billion roman Catholics, brings up numerous issues that are at the heart of Santa Clara University's mission to create a more just, humane and sustainable world.
Learn more about ways in which Santa Clara University has vowed to reduce its own environmental impact; teaches sustainability on campus; works with worldwide entrepreneurs grappling with the impacet of climate change; and the ways in which care for the environment is an ethical issue.
A November forum is also being planned on campus to address the moral, ethical, economic and personal dimensions of Climate Change. Check back here for updates.
