With the exception of four years as a counselor in Mountain View, I've been at SCU since 1973 as both an undergraduate and graduate student, but mostly as the Director of Mission Santa Clara and a liaison with the Campus Ministry Staff. My two degrees are in Religious Studies (undergraduate) and Counseling Psychology (graduate), both from SCU. (As you can tell, SCU has factored greatly in my life.) For recreation, I'm a weekend jogger/hiker and an avid reader of architecture and urban planning books—unusal bedtime reading but I love it. I also greatly enjoy history and, as you might guess, am well versed in Mission Santa Clara history.

California Mission Room A co-founder of Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service, Fr. Louie Vitale is currently the organization’s Nonviolent Action Advocate. A Franciscan priest, Fr. Vitale has devoted his life to peace, working tirelessly for the dignity and well-being of people everywhere. He is the co-founder of the Nevada Desert Experience and has participated in its enduring movement to end nuclear testing. He recently completed twelve years as the pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church in a low-income neighborhood in San Francisco, California.
