Trung Pham, SJI was originally born in Saigon, Vietnam. I came to the United States with my parents when I was 16 years old in 1990. Coming to America was a big change and made a big impact on my outlook on life. I began to wonder about the purpose of life. My search for the meaning of life found its fulfillment in the Ignatian spirituality which leads me to my commitment to religious life. I went to UCLA for my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. Right after college, I joined the Jesuits and took vows in 2000. I went to Loyola Universityin Chicago to study philosophy and spent a year teaching Art and Chemistry at Loyola high school in Los Angeles. I also earned an MFA in Drawing/Painting from Pratt Institute in 2006. I come to Santa Clara University as a part of my Jesuit formation. I serve halftime in campus ministry, specializing in liturgy and hospitality, and teach half time in the Fine Art Department. I like to swim, to read, and to skate. |
