Lenten Prayer & fellowship Opportunities

• Simple Meals

  A time to share a meal with friends, discuss your faith journey, and learn something new. This year we will focus on finding God in art, image, and movement. Every Friday at NOON during Lent (2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15).
  

• CRS Rice Bowl

  For years Catholic Relief Services has been collecting money during Lent for its work in developing countries. Pick up a rice bowl in Campus Ministry or the Mission Church. Add your change to the box at the end of each day. Return it on Palm Sunday, March 24, as a check written out to “Santa Clara University.”
  

• Weekly Wednesday Worship

  Weekly Wednesday Worship is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gather weekly in the Multifaith Sanctuary for a diverse array of prayer, reflection and worship experiences. The Lenten schedule is:

  • February 20: The Challenge: Lenten Spirituality (a spirituality series that  involves a speaker, meditation and discussion)
  • February 27: eXaLT (Eucharistic Adoration)
  • March 6: Reconciliation Service
  • March 13: Way of the Cross
    

• Sacraments of Initiation

  Please pray for those who will be fully initiated in the Catholic Church.

• Prayer Requests

  Campus Ministry receives prayer requests from the SCU community, which are held in prayer by a team of students that meets weekly.
  

   

• Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion

  There will only be one Mass at 10 am in the Mission Church for this celebration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
  

• Easter Triduum Schedule

  Holy Thursday: Liturgy of the Last Supper, 8 p.m.
  Good Friday: Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, 3 p.m.
  Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil, 8 p.m.
  Easter Sunday: Mass of the Resurrection, 9 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.

• Devotional Resources

  Daily reflections for Lent, available in the Campus Ministry office.
  

• Ash Wednesday Services

  Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the season of Lent. It reminds us that "you are dust and unto dust you shall return." At all of our services there will be an opportunity to receive ashes from a minister. Catholic liturgies are at 7:30 am, 12:05 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm. A shared Catholic and Protestant service is at 4 pm.
