Sacramental Preparation

RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process through which one seeks initiation in the Roman Catholic community. This process can include unbaptized persons inquiring about Catholicism, persons baptized in another Christian tradition who seek to make a profession of faith in the Catholic Church, or baptized Catholics who seek to complete their initiation through the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. The Campus Ministry sponsored RCIA process is open to current SCU students. Alumni, staff/faculty, and other community members are welcomed to contact the Campus Ministry office for a referral to a local parish.

Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is for Catholics who are baptized, have celebrated First Eucharist, and wish to reaffirm their faith commitment in the Roman Catholic community. The preparation for and celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation at Santa Clara University is available every other year to current SCU students. The process will be offered in the 2005-2006 school year. Registration begins in the fall quarter and the preparation and celebration occur during the Easter season (spring quarter).
