SC4SJ: every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Campus Ministry

We are beginning the quarter with a focus on immigration.  We will be doing a role play on immigration on October 2 in order to develop strategies and understand other people's perspectives.  We are all allies and must work together for a more just world.

  • DESIGN YOUR OWN DIRECTION (Year-of-Service Panel): October 3, 2007 (Wednesday), 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., Parlors BCDE, Benson Center
 
Seniors and juniors alike will enjoy this opportunity to hear from SCU alumni and others about year-of-service opportunities.  It is an excellent first-hand presentation of a valuable alternative to employment or grad school after graduation from Santa Clara.  My own experience after college as a volunteer with VISTA in Northeast Nebraska became a turning point in my life and set me on a course that has been fulfilling in every way.  Such experiences continue to enrich the lives of volunteers as they enrich the communities where volunteers serve.  Peace Corps, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, City Year, Nazareth Farm (Appalachia), and more will all be represented.
  • Laramie Project: Movie showing in Women's and Gender Studies building across from Dunne on Market Street.  October 9.
  • Point 7 Now Conference: An annual conference focusing on the Millennium Development Goals set forth by the UN.  October 27 in San Francisco.
Ongoing meetings

Fair Trade Coalition will be meeting every Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in Campus Ministry starting soon.

Labor Action Committee meets on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in the SCCAP office.
