Madeleine Lim and T. Kebo Drew will discuss their work with QWOCMAP dispelling stereotypes about the Queer Women of Color community, media representations in the LGBTQ community, and how the organization allows the community to share their narratives.

Public Lecture and Book Signing

Bobby Seale, 1960s civil rights activist, founding Chairman and national organizer of the Black Panther Party, and African-American community organizer, will speak about his personal experiences from the 1960s to today fighting for civil rights, making change happen for all humanity, and creating "community unity."
Following the lecture, Mr. Seale will be available to sign copies of his books and DVDs, including Seize the Time: The Story of the Black Panther Party and Huey P. Newton.

Each year this presentation is brought to campus through the collaboration of the members of Teatro Corazon of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish of San Jose as well as SCU students who are participants in an Arrupe community-based learning placement. Through this collaboration members of the Santa Clara and Sacred Heart communities learn from one another and gain an appreciation for the talents that each bring to this sacred performance.
