Explorations courses, usually taken during the second and third years, foster the breadth of knowledge, skills, and values needed for contemporary life. These courses explore the range of majors available, developing connections between the major and other areas of learning. Explorations deepen the knowledge, habits of mind and heart, and engagement with the world that students encountered in their Foundations courses through advanced courses in religion and global culture.  Additional courses focus on ethics, arts, diversity, natural and social science, technology, and civic engagement.  The courses of Explorations prepare students for civic dialogue in an increasingly global and technological world, challenging them to ask how the world can be transformed for the better.
