Santa Clara has a mandatory health insurance requirement for all students except graduate students who are domestic or international on visas other than F1. The University-sponsored insurance plan is by Aetna PPO.

Undergraduate Students
All undergraduate students must either enroll in the University-sponsored insurance plan or show proof of their own health insurance plan by completing the online waiver form by the deadline. The waiver will be accepted if the student’s insurance is comparable to the University-sponsored plan. If students do not submit an acceptable waiver, then they will be automatically enrolled in the University-sponsored Aetna PPO plan and their individual student accounts will be charged $1,926.00 for the annual insurance policy.

All Jesuit School of Theology students must either enroll in the University-sponsored insurance plan or show proof of their own health insurance plan by completing the online waiver form by the deadline. The waiver will be accepted if the student’s insurance is comparable to the University-sponsored plan. If students do not submit an acceptable waiver, then they will be automatically enrolled in the University-sponsored Aetna PPO plan and their individual student accounts will be charged $1,032.00 for the annual insurance policy.
