Become a Center of Performing Arts Donor!
The Center of Performing Arts strives to create opportunities on the SCU campus to teach students, engage audiences, and promote understanding through the performing arts. Your generous support helps facilitate this mission by providing our students and community enriched programming and unique learning experiences such as:
Festival de Música Cubana, the Department of Music’s inaugural world music festival, featured music, lectures, workshops, film, food, photo exhibition, and dance celebrating Cuba’s rich culture.
Working in conjunction with the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics and the Ignatian Center’s Bannan Institute, the Center of Performing Arts presented a professionally cast and directed production of Caryl Churchill’s A Number as part of SCU’s new Health and Science Horizons series.
Bring Your Own Salsa! the Center of Performing Arts first free, outdoor concert by San Francisco salsa favorite Mazacote, featured a Salsa dance lesson with SCU’s own Salsa Clara.
PERFORMING ARTISTS SERIES
New performing artists endeavor brought Bay Area professionals such as salsa legend Louie Romero and internationally-acclaimed jazz and blues vocalist Kim Nalley to SCU.
Bay Area composer Henry Mollicone’s poignant Beatitude Mass, a choral work illuminating the plight of the homeless, raised awareness and funds for the homeless in our community.
Your contribution is vital to the continued success of our performing arts programming. We welcome donations of every size, and are pleased to acknowledge donations on our performance programs.
